Registered Nurse Operating Room - Little Egg Harbor Surgery Center - Part Time

Position Summary

The Perioperative Nurse is responsible for providing exceptional patient care and family support throughout the three phases of the surgical experience. This position provides the physician members of the healthcare team with the equipment, supplies, and support to perform surgical/endoscopic procedures.

This role supports organizational goals by delivering quality customer service, participating in performance improvement efforts, and demonstrating teamwork and cooperation.

Qualifications

• Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing; Bachelor’s in Nursing preferred.
• Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in New Jersey.
• Experience: Proficiency in Clinical Applications preferred; training will be provided if needed within 30-60 days of hire.

Performance Expectations

Demonstrates the competencies as established on the Assessment and Evaluation Tool for this position.

Work Environment

Potential exposure to hospital hazards, blood-borne pathogens, infectious diseases, hazardous substances, and potential injuries. The environment is busy and noisy, with frequent interruptions requiring re-evaluation of priorities. Standing for long periods, occasional lifting up to 20 pounds, and walking short distances quickly are required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Specialty experience and advanced certification required.
• Ability to communicate effectively and adapt to schedule changes.
• Prior ambulatory/operating room experience preferred.
• BLS/HCP certification required; ACLS preferred.
• CNOR certification preferred.

Reporting Relationship

This position reports to the Director of Nursing/Clinical Manager.
