We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Public Relations Manager-RECOVER. NYU Langone Health is the Clinical Science Core for a major NIH grant to study Post-Acute Sequelae of SARS-CoV-2 Infection (PASC) or Long COVID. This 4-year initiative aims to answer key research questions needed to advance the scientific community's understanding of Long COVID and discover effective therapeutics to address it. The RECOVER Public Relations Manager position is part of the Clinical Science Core (CSC) whose purpose is to coordinate the development and implementation of master protocols; to provide expertise in clinical protocol design, implementation; and execution of large clinical research studies for the PASC grant. This is an interdepartmental effort that spans the Office of Science and Research, Department of Medicine, Department of Population Health, and Medical Center IT. Reporting to the Program Director, Communications and Engagement, the RECOVER Public Relations Manager takes responsibility for working with our research partners and a large network of participating clinical research sites to implement the study protocol and monitor study recruitment. While handling routine media inquiries and drafting responses in close coordination with the RECOVER communications director, the individual collaborates with the Office of Communications and Marketing (including the research communications team) prior to major RECOVER research milestones.
To qualify, candidates must have a Bachelor's Degree in marketing, science, public health, healthcare administration, or a related field, along with at least 5 years of experience in social service agencies, non-profits, government, academic, or clinical research environments, demonstrating analysis and facilitation skills.
Experience managing press releases, media inquiries, patient-facing FAQs, executive responses, and working within large, diverse networks is required. Candidates should be organized, tactful, and possess strong writing and editing skills. Knowledge of highly regulated and matrixed environments, along with social media content creation, is essential.
