Job summary

HCA HealthONE Aurora is seeking an experienced OR Registered Nurse to join our Surgical Services team. You will work within an interdisciplinary environment, delivering high-quality patient care across age groups and procedures. You will prepare for surgeries, manage equipment, and support post-procedure workflows.

The role requires Colorado RN licensure, BLS, and at least 1 year in perioperative care. ACLS/PALS within 6 months and CNOR preferred; weekend overnight call is required.

Qualifications

• Current licensure in the State of Colorado as a Registered Nurse or active multi-state RN license.
• Basic Life Support certification through AHA or Red Cross.
• BSN degree preferred; graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
• One year minimum perioperative (OR) experience required.
• ACLS and PALS certification within 6 months of hire; CNOR preferred.
• Must be available for Weekend Overnight call – 60 hours scheduled, 40 guaranteed.

Responsibilities

• Bring OR nurse skills to serve adult, adolescent, geriatric, or pediatric patients as needed.
• Prepare for each procedure by ensuring adequate stock and equipment availability.
• Assist with post-procedure tasks, clean rooms, and set up for the next procedure.
• Teach, supervise, and serve as a resource; delegate based on competency level.
• May rotate to areas other than OR, performing only duties you are competent in.

Here is some of what you can expect from being an OR Registered Nurse with us:

• You will bring your OR Nurse specialized skills to serve specific age groups, which may include adult, adolescent, geriatric, or pediatric populations.
• You will prepare for each procedure and/or surgery by ensuring there is adequate stock, and appropriate equipment available in areas as assigned.
• You will assist with post procedure workload including cleaning room between procedures, putting away all unused supplies & setting up for the next procedure.
• You will teach, supervise, and serve as a resource person and delegates in accordance with the competency level of all staff members.
• You may rotate to areas other than OR, and will perform only those duties that you have demonstrated competency.

What qualifications you will need:

• Current licensure in the State of Colorado as a Registered Nurse, or current active multi-state Registered Nurse license.
• Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing. BSN preferred.
• One (1) year minimum experience in the perioperative (OR) setting is required.
• ACLS and PALS certification within 6 months of hire.
• CNOR preferred.
• Must be available for Weekend Overnight call- Friday- Monday. 60 hours scheduled, 40 guaranteed.
