Unit Highlights:
- Winter Park’s Surgical department has 16 operating rooms and averages about 40 surgeries a day.
- Their specialties include: General, GYN, Urology, Orthopedics, Ophthalmology, ENT, Robotics.
- Utilizing four robots: De Vinci Si, Da Vinci Xi, Senhance, and Stryker Mako.
The community you’ll be caring for:
- Winter Park Memorial Hospital has served residents of Winter Park and surrounding communities for over 50 years.
- Founded in 1951, it has grown into a 307-bed acute care facility emphasizing community health and wellness.
- The hospital has expanded to include an upscale obstetrics and Level II Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at The Dr. P. Phillips Baby Place, cancer care at the AdventHealth Cancer Institute, Winter Park, and advanced surgery, recovery, and rehabilitation services at the AdventHealth Orthopedic Institute.
Surgical Services:
- Winter Park’s Surgical department has 16 operating rooms and performs about 40 surgeries daily.
- Specialties include: General, GYN, Urology, Orthopedics, Ophthalmology, ENT, Robotics.
- Utilizes four robotic systems: De Vinci Si, Da Vinci Xi, Senhance, and Stryker Mako.
- We foster teamwork among multiple disciplines to provide comprehensive, whole-body healthcare, and you will be an active part of this multifaceted team.
The role you’ll contribute:
The Registered Professional Nurse (RN) provides and supervises direct and indirect nursing care to specific age groups, using the nursing process (assess, plan, implement, evaluate). Adheres to the AdventHealth Corporate Compliance Plan and all applicable regulations. Participates in delivering outstanding customer service and maintains respectful relationships with patients and staff.
The value you’ll bring to the team:
- NURSING KNOWLEDGE: Ability to assess and interpret diagnostic data relevant to patient age and condition, including lab results, monitoring data, and interdisciplinary notes. Applies knowledge and skills related to diagnoses, procedures, medications, complications, and equipment for the patient population.
- PATIENT SAFETY: Practices reflect adherence to regulatory standards, infection prevention, medication safety policies, and patient teaching opportunities.
- COMMUNICATION: Fosters excellent nurse-patient relationships through compassionate, effective communication, including hourly rounding. Uses appropriate techniques and verbiage for patient understanding and communicates thoroughly with the interdisciplinary team, following the chain of command when needed.
- DOCUMENTATION: Accurately records all patient information in the electronic medical record in real time, following policies and standards of care.
*Terms: 12-month employment contract required for sign-on and relocation.
Sign-on Eligibility:
- Relevant experience required.
- Internal candidates and rehires within 12 months are not eligible.
Relocation Eligibility:
- Must reside 50 miles outside the campus address.
The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:
Minimum qualifications:
- Graduate of a school of nursing
- Current valid State of Florida or multistate license as a Registered Nurse
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
- Advanced Life Support Certifications (ACLS, PALS, NRP) as per unit requirements
- EKG certification
Preferred qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing
- Professional Certification
- Operating Room Circulator Experience
