Job summary

Black Women's Mental Health Institute is seeking a qualified Registered Nurse to join an Ambulatory Surgical Center in an Operating Room role. The RN will help prepare ORs, assist with setup, and work as scrub and/or circulator during procedures.

Required is 1 year of OR experience, an RN license, and an ADN or higher. ACLS/PALS are preferred. This is a full-time position with day-one benefits and no weekends or major holidays.

Qualifications

• Current RN licensure in the appropriate state.
• At least 1 year of recent OR experience; Interventional Radiology experience considered.
• HS diploma or GED; ADN required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• ACLS and PALS certifications are preferred.
• Ability to set priorities, organize workload, and interpret patient information by age-specific needs.

• Preparing operating rooms by ensuring the availability and functionality of surgical instruments, supplies, implants, medications, and equipment.
• Assisting with room setup and maintaining sterile fields in accordance with infection control standards.
• Functioning in scrub and/or circulator roles during surgical procedures.
• Anticipating the needs of surgeons, anesthesia providers, and the surgical team throughout procedures.

Qualifications And Skills Required

• At least 1 year of recent OR experience; Interventional Radiology experience considered.
• High School Diploma or GED required; 2-year/Associate Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor's Degree preferred.
• Current RN licensure in the appropriate state.
• Proficiency in setting priorities, organizing workload, and interpreting patient information based on age-specific needs.
• Knowledge of RN roles and ability to modify care accordingly.
• Strong telephone screening and interviewing skills.

Additional requirements:

ACLS and PALS certifications are preferred. The role offers full-time hours with no weekends or major holidays, benefits from day one, and involves operating room procedures such as ophthalmology, pain management, and podiatry.
