Job description

As an RN, you will play an integral role in delivering exceptional care. Using our patient-centered care model, you will be supported by a dedicated nursing organization and will be able to provide the excellent care your patients deserve.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Deliver nursing care in the Perioperative Services unit, including assessing, diagnosing, planning, intervening, evaluating, and educating patients.

• Communicate effectively with healthcare team members, patients, and their families.

• Coordinate and delegate appropriate patient care activities to inter-professional colleagues.

• Update and manage patient records accurately.

• Enter and interpret computerized data/information.

• Follow guidelines and policies established by BMC's nursing organization.

• Assist the leadership team as needed in quality improvement projects.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

• Nursing degree: Diploma, ASN, or BSN (preferred). Ability to obtain BSN within 4 years.

REQUIRED CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

• Licensed to practice professional nursing as a registered nurse in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.

• Certification in basic life support (BLS).

• CNRO certification (preferred).

• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification (preferred).

EXPERIENCE:

• Minimum 2 years of operating room experience required.

• 3 years preferred.

• Must be experienced in a circulating role.

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

• Relevant clinical experience and/or specialty certification as required for certain practice areas.

• Effective verbal and written communication skills.

• Physical ability to meet job responsibilities.

• Basic computer proficiency.

• Fluency in another language is a plus.
