Job summary

The Registered Nurse in the Operating Room at vTech Solution provides skilled nursing care during surgical procedures, manages case scheduling, and ensures efficient room preparation. Job Summary:

The Registered Nurse in the Operating Room is responsible for providing skilled nursing care during surgical procedures, managing case scheduling, and ensuring efficient room preparation. This role functions as the charge nurse for the night shift, overseeing case flow, coordinating with the interdisciplinary team, and supporting the department's goal of on-time first case starts. The nurse must be experienced, organized, and capable of working independently with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities: Required Skills & Certifications:

• Active Registered Nurse license with at least 2 years of operating room or surgical nursing experience.
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification.
• CNOR (Certified Nurse Operating Room) preferred.
• Experience with thoracic and vascular cases to independently take call.
• Demonstrated ability to organize, schedule, and manage operating room workflow.
• Travel nursing experience preferred.

Preferred Skills & Certifications:

• Previous charge nurse or leadership experience in an OR setting.
• Experience with a variety of surgical specialties including robotics and bariatrics.
• Knowledge of hospital policies related to surgical services and patient safety.

Special Considerations:

• Night shift role: 4x10 hour shifts from 10:00 PM to 7:30 AM, Sunday through Wednesday.
• No call required for night shift positions.
• Weekend work may be required to meet department needs.
• Travel contract eligibility requires separation from previous facility of at least 3 months (non-Swedish facilities).
• Floating within First Hill operating rooms is possible; floating to other facilities is extremely unlikely.
• Must be able to independently manage thoracic and vascular cases for call coverage.

Scheduling:

• Four 10-hour night shifts per week (10:00 PM to 7:30 AM), Sunday through Wednesday.
• Shift schedules are fixed with potential weekend shift assignments as needed.
