Job summary

Shriners Hospitals for Children is seeking a dedicated Pediatric Operating Room Nurse (RN) for our Surgical Services Department in Philadelphia. This full-time day shift position includes four 10-hour shifts with call required and no holidays, working with infants to young adults in a family-centered perioperative setting.

You will perform preoperative assessments, scrub and circulate, support safe surgical care, and collaborate with surgeons and anesthesia.

Qualifications

• RN license in state of practice is required.
• Current BLS certification is required.
• CNOR Certification and BSN are preferred for this role.

Responsibilities

• Perform preoperative assessment and verify readiness for surgery.
• Scrub/circulate intraoperative procedures.
• Maintain sterile environment and adherence to patient safety protocols.
• Assist with positioning, counts, specimen management, and documentation.
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and interdisciplinary teams.

The nurse serves as a patient advocate throughout the preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative phases of care while supporting safe, family-centered, evidence-based surgical practice.This position is full-time day shift – (4) 10-hour shifts.
