Job summary

Manchester Memorial Hospital, a Hartford HealthCare affiliate in Connecticut, is seeking an experienced registered nurse to provide high-quality direct and indirect patient-centered care using the nursing process. You will coordinate patient care by collaborating with an interdisciplinary team and communicate changes in the patient’s condition promptly to the team.

The role requires graduation from an accredited school of nursing with CT licensure, and current BLS/ACLS certification or ability

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program with CT license.
• BLS and ACLS certification required on hire or during orientation.
• Strong verbal and written English communication; basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide high quality direct and indirect patient-centered care using the nursing process.
• Coordinate patient care by working collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team.
• Communicate patient condition changes promptly to the clinical team.

POSITION SUMMARY:

Utilizing the nursing process, provides high quality direct and indirect patient –centered care.

Coordinates patient care by working collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team.

Communicates, as appropriate, the patient's clinical condition, responding quickly and accurately to changes in condition or response to treatment.

Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and the skills necessary to provide age-appropriate care to the patient population served.

Promotes the profession of nursing and professional practice through collegial support and interactions. Reports to the Clinical Nurse Manager.

Qualifications

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:

• Must be a graduate of an accredited school of Nursing with a current licensure in the State of Connecticut.
• Must have certification in Basic Cardiac Life Support and Advanced Cardiac Life Support upon hire or receive certification within the new employee introductory orientation period and maintain clinical competency during employment.

COMPETENCIES

• Must be able to effectively communicate verbally as well as in writing using the English language.
• Possesses basic computer skills.
