Job summary

Gentiva Hospice is seeking an After Hours / On-Call Hospice RN to respond to patient needs during evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays, delivering compassionate care when it matters most.

You’ll work directly with administrators and care teams, documenting visits, guiding clinical decisions, and coordinating with LPNs, CNAs, and families in patients' homes or care facilities. Active Louisiana RN license, 1+ year nursing experience, and CPR required.

Qualifications

• Current RN license in the state of employment or eligibility to obtain (orlicence)
• 1+ years of nursing experience
• Hospice heart: compassionate, calm, dependable in urgent care
• Excellent clinical judgment for emotional settings
• Comfortable providing care in patients' homes or other settings
• Valid driver’s license, auto insurance, reliable transportation
• Current CPR certification

Responsibilities

• Report directly to Administrator, Executive Director, or Patient Care Manager Senior
• Provide direct patient care and support after normal business hours
• Serve as liaison between patients, families, physicians, and hospice team during shift
• Respond promptly to urgent calls, visits, and symptom management needs

As an After Hours Hospice RN, you’ll respond to patient needs during evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays—bringing peace of mind and compassionate care when it’s needed most.
