Cape Fox Eagle Health LLC seeks a Registered Nurse to deliver Occupational Health services at NIH OMS in Bethesda, MD. This 24-hour-per-week role offers a total hourly pay of $48.57, including Health & Welfare per SCLS guidelines, with a 401K match.

The nurse will handle initial assessments, immunizations, and health promotion activities while coordinating care for injuries/illnesses and supporting satellite clinics as needed.

Qualifications

• Two years of postgraduate clinical experience as RN or LPN providing direct patient care.
• Graduate from NLNAC- or CCNE-accredited program; ADN or BSN required.
• Current RN license in any state; BLS certification.
• Knowledge of OSHA guidelines and workers’ compensation processes.

Responsibilities

• Perform initial assessment, treatment and counseling for occupational injuries and illnesses; refer to internal/external providers as needed.
• Conduct pre-placement medical evaluations including vital signs, hearing/vision testing, and EKGs.
• Administer work-related immunizations, including international travel vaccines, and provide health counseling.
• Document workers’ compensation information and educate staff on work restrictions following accidents or illnesses.
• Promote health within the NIH community and assist in implementing health promotion activities; coordinate cross-clinic coverage as needed.

Cape Fox Eagle Health LLC is accepting resumes for a Registered Nurse to provide Occupational Health services at the National Institute of Health Occupational Medical Service (OMS) Department located in Bethesda, Maryland. This position is 24 hours a week. Experience in Occupational Health, Emergency Medicine, Primary Care, Urgent Care or other outpatient services are required. The total hourly pay for this non-exempt position is $48.57 which is comprised of a base hourly rate of $44.00 plus $4.57 per hour Health & Welfare (H&W) for up to 40 hours per week as required by the Service Contract Labor Standards (SCLS) regulations. The above rate represents the company’s good faith and reasonable estimate of possible compensation at the time of posting. A 401K with company match is offered. Clinical Responsibilities (70%)

Ability to work within a multi-disciplinary team to perform initial assessment, treatment and counseling of occupational injuries and illness and mental health crises and make referrals to internal and external providers related to injury or illness when necessary. Provide proper documentation and education about workers compensation and work restrictions following an accident or illness. Assist in implementing health promotion activities within the NIH community. Independently conduct pre-placement medical evaluations to include vital signs, hearing/vision testing and EKG’s. Enroll and educate employees in appropriate medical surveillance programs (animal exposure program, tuberculosis, and biological surety program). Strong working knowledge of providing patient education and treatment to employees who may exposed to blood borne pathogens. Provide work related immunizations, including international travel immunizations and counseling to NIH employees. Manage triage telephone calls and walk- patients in a professional and with quick assessment skills. Nurse will be cross trained for coverage in satellite clinic in Frederick and Baltimore. Perform initial evaluation and triaging medical emergencies. Assist in the clinical care proved for medical the clinical care provided for medical emergencies to include wound care, medication administration, phlebotomy, EKG’s and BGM.

Administrative Responsibilities (30%)

Review and revise all sections of the OMS procedure manual annually. Participate in quality improvement activities and nurse training and staff meetings. Work with OMS Physicians and Advanced Practice Providers on new OMS initiatives. Experience: Two years of postgraduate clinical experience as a RN or LPN providing direct patient care and ability to draw and process blood samples. Graduate from a college or university accredited by National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC), or The Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE). With a degree in Associate’s Degree in Nursing OR Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Certified in Basic Life Support (BLS) Licensed as an RN in any state with a full, active, and unrestricted license. Knowledge of worker’s compensation and possess practical knowledge of OSHA guidelines. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office. Must have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986.
