Job summary

Cape Fox Eagle Health LLC is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide medical and counseling services at the NIH Occupational Medical Service (OMS) Department in Bethesda, Maryland.

The position is non-exempt with an hourly pay of $48.09 ($43 base + $5.09 H&W) for up to 40 hours/week; benefits include health/dental/vision insurance, life and disability insurance, tuition reimbursement, and a 401K with company match.

Qualifications

• Two years of postgraduate clinical RN or LPN experience providing direct patient care and blood draws.
• NLNAC or CCNE accreditation with ADN or BSN degree; BLS certification.
• Current RN license in any state with full, active, and unrestricted license.
• Knowledge of workers' compensation and OSHA guidelines.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Perform initial assessments, treatment and counseling for occupational injuries and illnesses.
• Provide patient education and work restrictions related to injuries.
• Administer work-related immunizations and pre-placement medical evaluations.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary team and referrals.
• Assist in health promotion activities within NIH community.
• Handle triage calls and walk-in patients with quick assessments.
• Support satellite clinics in Frederick and Baltimore.
• Assist in clinical care for emergencies and wound care.
• Review OMS procedures and participate in quality improvement.

The total hourly pay for this non-exempt position is $48.09 which is comprised of a base hourly rate of $43.00plus $5.09per hour Health & Welfare (H&W) for up to 40 hours per week as required by the Service Contract Labor Standards (SCLS) regulations.The above rate represents the company’s good faith and reasonable estimate of possible compensation at the time of posting. ClinicalResponsibilities(70%)

• Ability toworkwithinamulti-disciplinary team to perform initial assessment, treatment and counseling of occupational injuries and illness and mental health crises and make referrals to internal and external providers related to injury or illness when necessary.
• Provideproperdocumentationandeducation about workers compensation and work restrictionsfollowinganaccidentorillness.
• Assistinimplementinghealthpromotionactivitieswithinthe NIHcommunity.
• Independentlyconductpre-placement medical evaluations to include vital signs, hearing/vision testing and EKG’s.
• Enrollandeducateemployeesinappropriatemedicalsurveillanceprograms(animalexposureprogram,tuberculosis,andbiologicalsuretyprogram).
• Strongworkingknowledgeofprovidingpatienteducationandtreatmenttoemployeeswhomay exposedtobloodbornepathogens.
• Provideworkrelatedimmunizations,includinginternationaltravelimmunizationsandcounselingto NIHemployees.
• Managetriagetelephonecallsandwalk-patientsinaprofessionalandwithquickassessmentskills.
• NursewillbecrosstrainedforcoverageinsatelliteclinicinFrederickandBaltimore.
• Performinitialevaluationandtriagingmedicalemergencies.
• Assist in the clinical care proved for medical the clinical care provided for medical emergencies to include wound care, medication administration, phlebotomy, EKG’s and BGM.

AdministrativeResponsibilities(30%)

• ReviewandreviseallsectionsoftheOMSproceduremanualannually.
• Participateinqualityimprovementactivities andnursetrainingandstaff meetings.
• WorkwithOMSPhysiciansandAdvanced Practice Providers on new OMS initiatives.

Job Requirements

• Experience: Two years of postgraduate clinical experience as a RN or LPN providing direct patient care and ability to draw and process blood samples.
• Graduate from a college or university accredited by National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC), or The Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE). With a degree in Associate’s Degree in Nursing OR Bachelor of Science in Nursing.Certified in Basic Life Support (BLS)
• Licensed as an RN in any state with a full, active, and unrestricted license.
• Knowledge of worker’s compensation and possess practical knowledge of OSHA guidelines.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Must have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986.
