Job summary

Holy Cross Health in Silver Spring, MD, seeks a Clinical Nurse to join the Observation Unit on a full-time basis (36 hours weekly, Day Shift). The RN delivers evidence-based patient care as part of an interdisciplinary team, coordinating the plan of care.

Responsibilities include direct nursing care for oncology, med/surg and hospice patients, administering medications (chemotherapy if certified), discharge planning, pain management and education for patients and families.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited nursing program; BSN preferred.
• Current Maryland RN licensure or Compact state licensure.
• BLS certification; additional Life Support training as unit requires.
• At least 1 year of nursing experience in an acute care setting.
• Superb interpersonal, communication and collaboration abilities.
• Competency in electronic patient management systems.

Position Purpose

The Clinical Nurse/Registered Nurse works in a collaborative environment at Holy Cross Health within the Observation Unit to deliver excellent patient care as part of an interdisciplinary team providing evidence-based medicine and individualized patient care. Minimum Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited nursing program; basic professional nursing degree (BSN) preferred. Note, if the BSN degree is not present on hire, the employee must sign an agreement to obtain a within a specific time frame.
• Current licensure by the Maryland State Board of Nursing or Compact State as a Registered Nurse.
• BLS certification; additional Life Support training as applicable to unit requirements.
• At least 1 year of nursing experience in an acute care setting.
• Superb interpersonal, communication and collaboration abilities
• Competency in electronic patient management systems

• BSN or MSN preferred

Pay Range $40.09-$57.35Pay is based on experience, skills, and education.

Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location.
