Henry Ford Health is seeking a Part-time Registered Nurse for the Observation Unit at Genesys Health System in Grand Blanc, MI. The Observation unit is a 23-hour hold with 16 beds (up to 30) and a 4:1 patient-to-nurse ratio, requiring teamwork and strong prioritization in a fast-paced environment.

As a RN you will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care using the nursing process to ensure safe outcomes.

Qualifications

• Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Michigan Board of Nursing obtained within 60 days of hire date.
• Basic Life Support certification (AHA) obtained within 90 days of hire date.

Observation is a 23 hour hold unit. 16 beds with ability to go up to 30 beds. 4:1 nurse patient ratio.

What You Will Do

• Coordinate the development of a multi-disciplinary plan of care to ensure appropriate length of stay, resource use, and quality outcomes.


• Provide patient care that respects individual rights, dignity, values, culture, preferences, and expressed needs.


• Educate patients and families on treatment plans, safety measures, medications, and self-care, ensuring effective communication and understanding.


• Administer medications, IVs, and blood products, and perform procedures such as dressing changes, catheterization, and blood glucose monitoring.


• Monitor patient responses to interventions, recognize acute changes in patient conditions, and respond appropriately to ensure patient safety and well‑being.


• Collaborate with case managers and other healthcare professionals to ensure smooth transitions and appropriate referrals for continued care.

Required Qualifications

• Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Michigan Board of Nursing obtained within 2 Months (60 days) of hire date or job transfer date.


• Certified BLS Provider specializing in Basic Life Support credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained within 3 Months (90 days) of hire date or job transfer date.


• Graduate of an approved professional (RN) nursing program.
