Job summary

Northwest Hospital, part of LifeBridge Health, is seeking a nurse for the Observation unit. The role provides direct clinical patient care, assesses needs, and plans and implements care on a per shift basis.

The nurse will supervise staff delegated to them and support the CNO to ensure high-quality, safe care and efficient resources on the unit.

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse license.
• Less than one year of nursing experience.

Job description

The Observation unit at Northwest Hospital is a 20-bed unit that cares for a diverse mix of diagnoses. Most patients stay on this unit for less than 24 hours. Nurses on this unit specialize in telemetry, stroke and advanced cardiac life support (ACLS).

Summary

Under the direction of the unit manager, this role provides direct clinical patient care. The role will assume responsibility for assessing, planning, implementing direct age-appropriate clinical care to assigned patients on a per shift basis, and unit level. The role is responsible for supervision of staff to which appropriate care is delegated. The role is accountable to support CNO to ensure high quality, safe and appropriate nursing care, competency of clinical staff, and appropriate resource management related to patient care.
