Job summary

Mercy Hospital - W Memorial Rd in Oklahoma is seeking a Neonatal ICU nurse (RN) for night shifts, 36 hours per week. The role uses the nursing process to provide patient care, coordinate with other departments, and ensure patient rights and confidentiality.

You will evaluate care, collaborate with the team, and uphold compassionate professional standards. An RN license in Oklahoma or compact licensure is required; BLS certification is preferred or obtained within 30 days of hire.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited registered professional nursing program.
• RN license in the hiring state and/or compact licensure; must meet state board requirements.
• Physical ability to push/pull/lift up to 50 pounds; prolonged standing/walking; able to bend, kneel and squat.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or obtain within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Utilizes the nursing process to provide patient care for assigned neonates.
• Maintains patient rights and confidentiality of information.
• Evaluates care effectiveness and coordinates patient care with other departments.

Overview:

Utilizes the nursing process to provide patient care. Maintains professional accountability for provision of patient care for the assigned patients. Evaluates the overall effectiveness of care provided by other direct care givers. Coordinates the patient care in conjunction with other departments. Maintains patient rights and confidentiality of patient information.

Qualifications:

• Education: Graduate of an accredited registered professional nursing program
• Licensure: Is personally responsible for obtaining, and maintaining, a current RN license within the hiring state and/or compact licensure in which nursing duties are performed and must meet all state board of nursing requirements.
• Physical requirements/demands: Position requires individuals to push, pull, and/or lift 50 pounds on a regular basis. Position requires prolonged standing and walking each shift. Position requires the ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties
• Certifications: Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association or successful completion of course within 30 days of hire. Other unit specific certifications as required
