Job summary

Sierra Medical Center, part of Northern Nevada Health System, seeks a registered nurse to deliver safe, competent nursing care in a 170-bed acute care setting with services including 24/7 ER, cardiology, oncology, labor and delivery, and NICU support.

You will lead the care team with patient-centered practice, educate new mothers, and develop individualized care and discharge plans in collaboration with physicians and staff.

Qualifications

  • Current Nevada nursing license is required.
  • BLS certificate is required; NRP within 6 months of hire.
  • STABLE within 6 months of hire is preferred.
  • Neonatal nursing experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide safe, competent nursing care per facility policies and standards.
  • Educate and support new mothers during the postpartum period in the hospital.
  • Lead and support the healthcare team with patient-centered care.
  • Develop goals and discharge plans in collaboration with patients and families.

Job summary:

Provides safe, competent nursing care for patients in accordance with facility policies, standards, and philosophy. Provides professional leadership and support to the healthcare team. The concepts of Patient Centered Care will provide the foundation for all nursing care. Demonstrates Service Excellence standards at all times.

Job duties/Responsibilities:
  • Educate and assist new mothers with physical and emotional needs durng the post partum period, while in the hospital setting
  • Caring for the infants and educating mothers about care.
  • Constructs and implements the plan of care using nursing knowlede and skill.
  • Develops goals, treatment plans, and discharge plans that meet individual patient/family needs.

Qualifications
  • Graduate of an accredited or NLN-approved RN program.
  • Current Nevada nursing license.
  • Current BLS certificate. NRP within 6 mo. of hire. STABLE within 6 mo of hire
  • Neonatal nursing experience preferred.
  • Prefer one year full time or three years part time experience in acute care setting.
  • Must successfully pass any pre-employment assessment(s) required by the facility.
