Job summary

Sierra Medical Center, part of Northern Nevada Health System, seeks an experienced RN to provide safe, compassionate postpartum nursing care and lead the healthcare team. You will educate new mothers, care for infants, and develop care and discharge plans in a patient-centered setting.

Must hold Nevada RN license with current BLS; NRP and STABLE within 6 months are required or anticipated. Prior neonatal experience is preferred, with a minimum of two years of nursing experience.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited RN program.
• Current Nevada nursing license.
• Current BLS certificate. NRP within 6 mo. of hire. STABLE within 6 mo of hire
• Neonatal nursing experience preferred.
• Two years nursing experience required.
• Must successfully pass any pre-employment assessment(s) required by the facility.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, competent nursing care for patients per facility policies and philosophy.
• Offer professional leadership and support to the healthcare team.
• Educate new mothers with physical and emotional needs during the postpartum period.
• Care for infants and educate mothers about infant care.
• Construct and implement the plan of care using nursing knowledge and skills.
• Develop goals, treatment plans, and discharge plans that meet patient/family needs.
