Job summary

Novant Health's Level IV NICU seeks an experienced Registered Nurse to provide high-acuity neonatal care in a multidisciplinary team. You will assess fragile infants, participate in care planning, and deliver evidence-based treatments.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required.
  • RN licensure currently active in the appropriate state.
  • ENPC, TNCC or CEN; preferred.
  • NC state approved curricula for restrictive interventions within 3 months of hire, required.

Responsibilities

  • Assess Patients: Conduct comprehensive assessments, analyze clinical data, identify care needs, and anticipate changes in patient condition.
  • Develop Care Plans: Collaborate with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary team to create and adjust individualized plans of care.
  • Provide Nursing Care: Implement care plans, administer medications, perform nursing procedures, educate patients and families, and respond to emergencies.
  • Evaluate Outcomes: Monitor patient progress, assess responses to interventions, and modify care plans to achieve outcomes.
  • Communicate Effectively: Ensure safe handoffs and documentation using SBARQ and other tools.
  • Delegate Responsibly: Assign tasks appropriately while ensuring patient safety and quality outcomes.
  • Promote Professional Practice: Adhere to nursing standards, evidence-based practice, and regulatory requirements.
  • Support Team Success: Foster collaboration, mentor colleagues, and contribute to a positive team environment.

What You'll Do

What We're Looking For
  • Education: High School Diploma or GED, required. 4 Year / Bachelors Degree, preferred.
    • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required. If your RN nursing license has been inactive, retired or lapsed for five years or more and you have not been licensed in another state during the last five years, successful completion of a Board approved refresher course is required prior to reactivating or reinstating your license. In order to be considered for current licensure status, you must apply for reinstatement within one year of completing the refresher course.
  • Experience: One year relevant experience, preferred.
  • Licensure/Certification:
    • Current RN licensure in appropriate state, required.
    • ENPC, TNCC or CEN; preferred.
    • NC state approved curricula for restrictive interventions (facility specific) within 3 months of hire, required.
