Job summary

Menorah Medical Center in Overland Park, KS, is seeking a Registered Nurse NICU to deliver high-quality neonatal care for premature and at-risk infants. You will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care, supervising staff and providing education to families.

The role requires an RN license, BCLS, and NRP certification; new grads must obtain NRP within 6 months. NICU experience is preferred, with a supportive team and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Graduate of nursing program and licensed RN.
• Current state RN license with active status.
• BCLS certification required.

• Experience in NICU or neonatal care preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive nursing assessments per standards and protocols.

Job Summary and Qualifications

Neonatal ICU RNs care for premature babies or babies who develop medical complications during or after delivery and require a higher level of specialized care than a typical hospital nursery. What you will do in this role:

You will perform comprehensive nursing assessments regarding the health status of the patient, following standards of care and disease specific protocols.

You will plan, implement and evaluate patient care plans to optimize outcomes and maximize available resources.

You will provide direct nursing care and supervise non-licensed nursing staff within the RN’s scope of practice and in accordance with established policies.

You will provide education and emotional support to premature infants through 2 years of age, culture, condition, and circumstance and incorporate patient/family teaching into all aspects of nursing practice.

What qualifications you will need:

• Graduate of school of nursing required.
• Currently licensed as a registered professional nurse in the state(s) of practice and/or has an active compact license, in accordance with law and regulation
• Ability to achieve and maintain BCLS upon hire
• NRP certification required .
• New graduates and individuals with no prior NICU experience are required to obtain NRP by 6 months of employment.
• Previousexperience in area of specialty preferred.
