Job summary

Menorah Medical Center in Overland Park and Leawood, Kansas, seeks a Registered Nurse NICU to provide specialized care for premature infants and those with delivery-related complications. You will assess and care for newborns, educate families, and collaborate with a dedicated NICU team.

The role requires RN licensure, BCLS competency, and NRP certification with a plan to obtain NRP if not yet licensed. New grads welcome to apply with a pathway to NICU readiness.

Qualifications

• Graduate of school of nursing required.
• Licensed as a registered nurse in the practicing state or with an active compact license.
• Ability to achieve and maintain BCLS upon hire.
• NRP certification required.
• New graduates and those with no NICU experience must obtain NRP by 6 months of employment.
• Prev ious experience in area of specialty preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive nursing assessments per standards of care and protocols.
• Plan, implement and evaluate patient care plans to optimize outcomes and resources.
• Provide direct nursing care and supervise non-licensed staff within RN scope and policies.
• Educate and support premature infants up to age 2 and involve families in teaching.

What you will do in this role

You will perform comprehensive nursing assessments regarding the health status of the patient, following standards of care and disease specific protocols.

You will plan, implement and evaluate patient care plans to optimize outcomes and maximize available resources.

You will provide direct nursing care and supervise non-licensed nursing staff within the RN’s scope of practice and in accordance with established policies.

You will provide education and emotional support to premature infants through 2 years of age, culture, condition, and circumstance and incorporate patient/family teaching into all aspects of nursing practice.

What qualifications you will need

Graduate of school of nursing required.

Currently licensed as a registered professional nurse in the state(s) of practice and/or has an active compact license, in accordance with law and regulation.

Ability to achieve and maintain BCLS upon hire.

NRP certification required .

New graduates and individuals with no prior NICU experience are required to obtain NRP by 6 months of employment.

Previousexperience in area of specialty preferred.
