Position Overview

Summary

Under minimal supervision, provides nursing care for a group of patients assigned based on matching their needs with the nurse’s competencies. Completes established competencies within the designated introductory period. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Minimum Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Preferred Education: Bachelor's Degree.
• Preferred Experience: Two years in acute care, with previous clinical nursing experience in med/surg, telemetry, or ICU.
• Required Certifications/Licensure: Current Texas State License for Registered Nurse.
• Required Courses/Certifications:
• Active healthcare provider Basic Life Support (ARC or AHA) at hire; AHA Healthcare Provider BLS within 60 days of hire.
• AHA ACLS within 60 days of hire or transfer into role (Adult Critical Care, Telemetry, Interim Critical Care Units). Should be completed before the end of the orientation period.
• AHA PALS within 60 days of hire or transfer into role (Pedi ICU). Should be completed before the end of the orientation period.
• AHA NRP within 60 days of hire or transfer into role (NICU).
• S.T.A.B.L.E. for NICU - Level 2 Nursery. Must provide proof of prior completion or obtain within 6 months of hire or transfer. Renewal is not required.
