Job summary

Saint Luke’s Health System in Kansas City, MO, is hiring a Registered Nurse for our Neurosurgery clinic at Saint Luke’s Plaza. This Full Time Days position runs Monday through Friday, 8am to 4pm, with no nights or weekends.

MO and KS RN licensure with BLS required. Previous clinic or inpatient experience in Neuroscience is preferred. You will provide professional nursing care in clinic settings, perform triage by phone, coordinate patient care, and support other office duties as needed.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse with an Associate Degree in Nursing.

Responsibilities

• In clinic setting: Provide professional nursing care for clinic patients following established standards and practices.
• Provide telephone triage, patient flow, and coordination of patient care.
• Schedule emergent need patient appointments, identify learning needs for patients and families, provide advice and recommendations, insert intravenous access with medication administration and duties as assigned based on clinic need.
• Delegate tasks to clinical staff in accordance with demonstrated competencies and consideration to Scope of Practice.
• Serve as subject matter expert for patient education, assessment, interpretation, and documentation of patient care and testing.
• Enter admission orders as directed by provider.
• Manage expired samples.
• Able to work in a team atmosphere as well as autonomously.
• Provide excellent customer service skills and professional demeanor at all times.
• May cover Medical Assistant, LPN, or other office duties as needed.

Job Requirements

• Applicable Experience: 1 year Basic Life Support - American Heart Association or Red Cross, Registered Nurse - Various Associate Degree - Nursing.
