Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a Registered Nurse in Neurosciences for an intermediate level, full-time night shift (7pm–7:30am) with rotating weekends. A $3,000 sign-on bonus is offered, with certain internal eligibility exceptions described in the posting.

The role requires Illinois RN licensure, ADN with BSN commitment, BLS, and strong interpersonal and collaborative skills to care for patients with neurological and spine disorders in a 24-bed unit.

Responsibilities

• Salary Range Maximum: $55.20
• Compensation: USD 34.5 - USD 55.2 - hourly

• 24 bed neurosciences unit providing care to patients requiring medical and surgical treatment of acute neurological and spine disorders
• Neurological conditions include acute and stable traumatic brain injury, subarachnoid hemorrhage, stroke, spinal injury, seizure, and acute inflammation or infections of the CNS. Neurosurgical patients include aneurysm repair, CS leaks & lumbar drains, post-op neurosurgical and spinal patients.

Staff Nurse Inpatient reflects the mission, vision, and values of NM, adheres to the organization’s Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines and all other regulatory and accreditation standards.

A clinically competent, registered, professional nurse who prescribes, delegates and coordinates nursing care to the acutely ill patient through the nursing process of assessment, planning, intervention, implementation and evaluation. Effectively interacts with patient, significant others, and other health team members, while maintaining ANA standards of professional nursing practice.
