Job summary

Northwestern Memorial Healthcare seeks a Registered Nurse for the Neurosciences Intermediate unit, delivering inpatient care on the night shift (7pm–7:30am) with rotating weekends.

The 24-bed neuroscience unit provides care for acute neurological and spine disorders, with a $3,000 sign-on bonus and a strong focus on patient satisfaction. Illinois RN license and BLS required; ADN acceptable with BSN plan within three years.

Qualifications

• Current State of Illinois Registered Professional Nurse license is required.
• BLS certification required by American Heart Association.
• Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide nurse-led care for neuroscience and spine patients in a 24-bed unit.
• Coordinate with physicians, therapists and support staff to deliver comprehensive care.

• 24 bed neurosciences unit providing care to patients requiring medical and surgical treatment of acute neurological and spine disorders
• Neurological conditions include acute and stable traumatic brain injury, subarachnoid hemorrhage, stroke, spinal injury, seizure, and acute inflammation or infections of the CNS. Neurosurgical patients include aneurysm repair, CS leaks & lumbar drains, post-op neurosurgical and spinal patients.

A clinically competent, registered, professional nurse who prescribes, delegates and coordinates nursing care to the acutely ill patient through the nursing process of assessment, planning, intervention, implementation and evaluation. Effectively interacts with patient, significant others, and other health team members, while maintaining ANA standards of professional nursing practice.
