Job summary

AdventHealth in Punta Gorda, FL is hiring a Registered Nurse for day shift with a Monday–Friday schedule. The role involves assessing patient needs, developing and implementing care plans, and delivering comprehensive nursing care in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.

Candidates should hold an RN license (BLS required) and have 1+ year of medical office experience or EHR proficiency. Benefits from day one and a $3,000 sign-on bonus are available.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Nursing (required).
• Bachelor's degree in Nursing (preferred).
• Registered Nurse (RN) license required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• 1+ medical office experience preferred.
• Electronic Health Record experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assesses patients' physical, psychosocial, cultural, and spiritual needs; builds care plans with interdisciplinary team.
• Delivers and supervises nursing care per standards; monitors outcomes.
• Administers medications, IVs, wound care, and catheterization.
• Advocates for patient safety, rights, and dignity.
• Educates patients and families; uses teach-back and motivational interviewing.
• Coordinates group visits for high-risk patients; supports care transitions.

Job Description:

• $3,000 Sign On Bonus for Eligible Candidates
• Shift: Monday through Friday from 8AM to 5PM
• Assesses patients' physical, psychosocial, cultural, and spiritual needs through observation, interviews, and review of medical records and clinical data.
• Develops and implements patient care plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team, observing outcomes in accordance with nursing standards.
• Demonstrates competency in therapeutic and diagnostic interventions, including IVs, wound care, medication administration, catheterization, and specimen collection.
• Advocates for and protects the health, safety, and rights of each patient.
• Provides patient and family education based on assessment of learning readiness, needs, and ability, and evaluate the effectiveness of teaching.
• Encourages patient engagement in healthcare through motivational interviewing, self-management protocols, and teach-back methodology.
• Delivers relationship-based care, engaging patients in all aspects of care with respect for cultural differences and diversity.
• Delegates tasks to non-RN personnel in accordance with State Board of Nursing and hospital policy.
• Coordinates and implements group visits for identified high-risk patient populations.
• Aids in the care transition of high-risk patients, including medication reconciliation and coordination of services.
• Contributes to continuous process improvement by actively participating in patient experience and satisfaction initiatives.
