Location: Gulf Coast Medical Center - 13681 Doctor's Way, Fort Myers, FL 33912

Department: Stroke Unit

Work Type: Full Time

Shift: 1/7:00 AM to 7:30 PM

Minimum to Midpoint Pay Rate: $30.27 - $40.86 / hour

Summary

Unit Details: 52 Neuro Stroke PCU and 12-bed Neuro Stepdown

Nurse to Patient Ratio: 1:4

Patient Care Focus: Stroke (Hemorrhagic and Ischemic), seizure patients, epilepsy diagnostics, general confusion, spinal surgeries, post-op care, alcohol withdrawal, and degenerative neuro conditions such as ALS and GBS.

Responsibilities

Responsible for the safe delivery and documentation of patient care through the nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Performs responsibilities across five areas of nursing practice: clinician, teacher, researcher, leader, and professional development. Collaborates with other disciplines to ensure effective patient care and outcomes. Supports the organization's vision and mission. Incorporates patient age and cultural diversity into care. Contributes to quality nursing care through customer service and performance improvement, guided by the ANA code of ethics.

Requirements
  • Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing program; Associates or Bachelors preferred.
  • Experience: Relevant experience; competency assessment required. Department-specific requirements may apply.
  • Certifications: BLS from American Heart Association, valid for at least 90 days post-hire; department-specific certifications may vary.
  • License: Current Florida nursing license.
  • Other Skills: Good communication, interpersonal, basic computer, and customer service skills.
