Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care to critically ill newborns and premature infants, including thorough assessments and continuous monitoring of vital signs and overall health status.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of military and civilian healthcare professionals to develop and implement personalized care plans for infants in the NICU.
  • Adhere to strict infection control protocols to ensure a safe and sterile environment for both patients and staff.
  • Monitor, document, and communicate vital signs and patient progress accurately and in real-time to ensure timely interventions.
  • Prepare, manage, and operate necessary medical equipment and supplies relevant to neonatal care procedures and treatments.
  • Actively support the healthcare team during critical interventions by anticipating needs and providing timely assistance.
  • Educate parents and families on treatment plans, developmental milestones, and available resources for ongoing care and support.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and ensure compliance with all institutional policies and healthcare regulations.
  • Maintain accurate and comprehensive medical records following healthcare standards and regulations to ensure high-quality patient care.

Qualifications

Basic Requirements / Certifications:

  • Must have a valid unrestricted RN license from any US State or territory.
  • Must have Basic Life Support (BLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP).
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in the specialty in the last 3-5 years.

Education Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in nursing or prior experience in a military or government healthcare facility is strongly preferred.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand, walk, lift, and bend for extended periods.
  • May be exposed to contagious diseases, radiation, and high-stress environments.

Other Special Qualifications:

  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English to effectively communicate.
  • US Citizen or Permanent Resident Card is required.
  • Pass / possess VA Public Trust Clearance.
Additional Information

Pay range is based on several factors and may vary in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and / or other benefits. Final salary and offer will be determined by the applicant's background, experience, skills, internal equity, and alignment with geographical market data.

Compensation / Min : $40/hr Max : $75/hr
