Job summary
AdventHealth in Palm Coast, FL is seeking an experienced Oncology Nurse Navigator to educate patients and coordinate cancer care across the pathway. You will partner with physicians, nurses, and support teams to guide patients through diagnosis, treatment, and survivorship.
The ideal candidate has 2+ years oncology experience, Florida RN license, and strong communication skills. This full-time role offers comprehensive benefits and growth opportunities within a faith-based health system.
Qualifications
- RN licensure in Florida is required.
- Minimum 2 years oncology/radiation clinical experience.
- Excellent communication and computer skills, including MS Office.
- Knowledge of The Joint Commission requirements and local, state, and federal regulations.
- Ability to work in a self-directed environment, with the capacity to lead and work with teams.
- Strong organizational, communication, and customer relation skills.
- Ability to provide age-appropriate cancer education and utilize resources.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Driver's License may be required.
Responsibilities
- Educates patients on what to expect before, during, and after procedures.
- Develops and revises patient education materials.
- Serves as a resource to cancer patients and educates and answers questions about disease-specific health concerns.
- Coordinates and participates in weekly multidisciplinary conferences, tracks procedures, follows results.
- Builds relationships with medical staff and community providers to grow cancer care market share.
- Engages and enrolls providers in the Cancer Navigation Pathway Program.

Other duties as assigned. Educates patients on what to expect before, during, and after diagnostic and treatment procedures, and develops and revises patient educational materials. Serves as a resource to cancer patients, educates and answers questions about disease-specific health concerns, and participates in health lectures and educational outreach programs. Coordinates and participates in weekly multidisciplinary conferences, tracks scheduled procedures, follows pathology results, and monitors outcomes of meetings. Builds relationships with community physician practices/groups to grow disease-specific inpatient and outpatient market share. Engages and enrolls healthcare providers in the Cancer Navigation Pathway Program. Promotes the Cancer Navigation Pathway Program to community and outreach programs. Researches and develops tools and strategies to market the Pathway Program to area physicians. Visit physicians offices regularly, handles physician/physician office issues promptly, and initiates physician communications as needed. Ensures physician satisfaction with services and reports concerns to the director on a monthly basis. Collaborates with the Cancer Institute Director to establish, implement, and evaluate goals related to growth, volume, clinical outcomes, and revenue. Facilitates the navigation of cancer patients through the pathway program, ensuring efficient and coordinated services through screening, diagnosis, treatment, and support/educational services. Establishes and maintains positive communication and relationships with referring physicians, surgeons, radiologists, pathologists, radiation oncologists, and medical oncologists.
- In-depth clinical knowledge in oncology [Required]
- Must have established positive working relations with the medical community in local areas [Required]
- Excellent communication skills and computer proficiency, including fluency in the English language and experience/knowledge of computer use, particularly MS-Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access) [Required]
- Must have knowledge of The Joint Commission requirements and local, state, and federal regulations [Required]
- Ability to work in a self-directed environment, with the capacity to lead and work with teams, and work independently [Required]
- Strong organizational, communication, and customer relation skills [Required]
- Ability to provide age-appropriate cancer education and utilize in-house and external oncology resources [Required]
- Ability to multitask and function in a stressful, fast-paced environment [Required]
- Self-motivated with a clear capacity for independent work [Required]
- Associate's of Nursing [Required]
- Bachelor's of Nursing [Preferred]
- Master's of Nursing [Preferred]
- 2+ years oncology and/or radiation clinical experience mandatory [Required]
- Registered Nurse (RN) [Required]
- Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) [Required]

Pay Range: $68,806.40 - $120,723.20
