Overview

The Registered Nurse is responsible for the delivery of patient care through the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Responsible for directing and coordinating all nursing care for patients based on established clinical nursing practice standards. Collaborates with other professional disciplines to ensure effective and efficient patient care delivery and the achievement of desired patient outcomes. Supports the organization’s vision and mission. Utilizes knowledge of patient’s developmental age and cultural diversity in the provision of patient and family-centered care. Contributes to the provision of quality nursing care through performance improvement techniques that demonstrate positive outcomes in patient care.

License/Registration/Certification

Certification by Unit / Education and Training

• Education: Associate degree in Nursing required
• For specific departments, obtain required certifications within designated timeframes (e.g., BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP, STABLE, APHON, TNCC, ENPC) as applicable to unit placement (e.g., PICU, Pediatrics, IMCU, Hematology/Oncology, NICU, Perioperative Services, Emergency Dept, Float Pool, Transport, Nurse Imaging, Multispecialty Center)

Special Notes by Unit

• Emergency Dept: NRP within 12 months and STABLE within 18 months (where applicable)
• Float Pool: ACLS and PALS required upon hire
