REQUIRED SKILLS / CERTS / EXP:
Minimum Years of Experience: Must have 2 years of surgical unit experience
Traveler Experience: Preferred but not required

Required Skills: Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, use of Rapid Response Teams, Blood Product Administration, Central line care/management, Peripheral Line Care/Management, Surgical drains, Nasal Cannula, Non-invasive airway management, Isolation Precautions, Wound Care/Wound Vac
Certs: BLS, ACLS, NIH
PREFERRED SKILLS / CERTS / EXP: Titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips, Chest tubes (Emerson/Pleur-evac)
JOB DETAILS:
Ratios: 1:6 for surgical/medicine inpatient patients.
Shift: 12 HR Nights; 36 or 48 hours accepted. No OT until after 48 hours if 48 hours are worked.
RTO: Max 7 days
Float Requirement: When needed to similar units
Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend

PATIENT DIAGNOSES: Wide range including surgical, trauma, cellulitis, appendicitis, cholecystitis, diverticulitis, MVA, gunshots, stabbings, falls, cancers, kidney stones, bowel obstruction, PVD, limb ischemia, hernia, gangrene.
SPECIAL PROCEDURES / UNIT DETAILS: Inpatient surgical procedures and trauma cases like cholecystectomy, appendectomy, hernia repair, TURP, ostomy, wound debridement, tumor removal, kidney stone removal, amputations, fem pop bypass.
SPECIAL EQUIPMENT: Wound Vacs, Chest Tubes, NG/Corpak, JP Drains, Hemovac, Penrose Drains.
UNIT SYSTEMS: Pyxis, EPIC, SBAR
SCHEDULING: As needed
ORIENTATION: 2 days hospital, 24 hours floor training
SCRUBS: Navy or Navy on bottom/White Top
OTHER NOTES: Must pass EKG testing prior to start.
