Job summary

HCA HealthONE Swedish is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Mom/Baby service line in Colorado. The nurse will provide direct patient care, participate in collaborative councils, and support nursing initiatives.

Responsibilities include floating to related areas, performing lab tests as outlined, and maintaining competency in safe patient care. The position requires Colorado RN licensure, BLS/NRP certifications, and BSN is desirable.

Qualifications

  • Current Colorado RN licensure and active licensure.
  • BSN preferred; BLS and NRP certifications recommended.
  • Experience in patient care and nursing theory; ability to float to different areas as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Float to areas other than assigned service as needed.
  • Perform lab testing and document results.
  • Provide safe and appropriate patient care within Nursing Standards.
  • Take call and meet call shift requirements.

Job Summary and Qualifications
  1. Position Summary:The Registered Nursedemonstratesknowledge and skills in the care of patients.Each service also requires specialized skills.The delivery of care is based on criteria thatisage appropriate and is based on the physical, psychosocial, cultural, safety, and learning needs of the individual patients.The Registered Nurse may be asked to float to areas other than his/her assigned service area, andwill perform only those duties for which he/she hasdemonstratedcompetency.The Registered Nurse performs delegated duties consistent with the scope of practice and functions within the philosophy and overall plan of care at Swedish MedicalCenter.Perform Lab testing as assigned based on protocol of each test, documenting results and communicatingcriticalas defined.Complete competency as required.Follow lab testing safety guidelines, maintenance and QC completion/documentation, andproficiencytesting as assigned. Follow "good lab practice" in testing andinitiatecorrective action as issues occur with test system or result.Educational records (diploma or transcript) are mandatory for staff performing non-waived testing.Positionwillbe responsible fortaking call and meeting call shift requirementsestablishedby the department.
  1. Position Requirements:
  1. Licensure/Certification/RegistrationCurrent licensure in the State of Colorado as a Registered Nurse, or current active multistate Registered Nurse license. Current BLS Certification through American Heart Association or American Red Cross.Current NRP certificationthrough AAP (American Academy of Pediatrics)..

Colleaguesparticipatingin a transition to practice program must have all required certifications at the completion of their program and transition to independent practice.

  1. Education:Graduate of an accreditedschoolofNursing.BSN is desirable.
  1. Experience:Able to articulate anddemonstrateappropriate nursingtheory and practice.Experience requirements are specific to positions and departments asappropriate.
  1. Knowledge,Skillsand Abilities: Demonstratesgood organizational skills.Provides safe andappropriate patientcare within the Standards of Nursing Practice atRoseMedicalCenter.Displaysappropriate judgementandproblem solvingskills.Communicates positively and professionally with all internal and external customers.
