Community Health Resources (CHR) Milestone program in Putnam, CT is seeking a Registered Nurse for per diem shifts. The role supports 24/7 residential services within a gender-responsive, trauma-informed program for women with substance use and mental health needs.

You will provide nursing assessments to new clients, coordinate care, and document interventions while participating in treatment planning and staff meetings.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a School of Nursing with RN licensure.

JOB TITLE: Registered Nurse

SCHEDULED HOURS: Saturday/Sunday 7am-3pm or 3pm-11pm

PROGRAM/LOCATION: Milestone, Putnam, CT

ABOUT THE PROGRAM: Milestone

Milestone is a 30-day intensive level 3.7 residential treatment center designed to accommodate and treat women with a history of substance abuse, trauma, and mental health issues. Our programme is recovery-oriented, gender-responsive, and trauma-informed. The overall goal of treatment is to help women find real hope for recovery. Milestone offers individual and group counseling, case management, and aftercare planning services. This programme also provides treatment for co-occurring disorders, with substance abuse as their primary diagnosis. Treatment is individualized and targeted around the needs essential to moving forward toward employment, housing, and family stability. Milestone is part of CHR's Center of Excellence for Women/Women and Children at our Putnam campus. Length of day is less than 30 days and are then referred out to a step-down programme to further address their co-occurring disorders.

ABOUT THE POSTION: Registered Nurse

Duties & Responsibilities

• Provides direct services to clients supported within the 24/7 residential setting.
• Provides a safe and therapeutic environment within the program.
• Works within program policy and guidelines to provide program services.
• Demonstrates an understanding of the treatment of substance use disorders as well as co-occurring disorders relevant to the population served.
• Intervenes in client differences or conflicts in a way to ensure a positive milieu.
• Demonstrates an understanding of the importance of family and natural support connections for clients served within the programs
• Demonstrates the ability to form and maintain positive and healthy rapport with clients served by building trust and supporting competencies through interest and active engagement.
• Demonstrates the ability to teach and support the learning of a broad range of skills including those related to: coping skills, ADLS and areas of psychoeducation and linkage to community resources and self-help groups.
• Demonstrates an empathic understanding of complex trauma.
• Transports clients within the program as needed.
• Documents planned interventions, behavior incidents, and general observations of clients served and assessment of their skills, behavior, and moods in an objective and professional manner.
• Participates in treatment plan meetings and case conferencing.
• Maintains documentation in compliance with agency and program standards.
• Participates in staff meetings, supervision, trainings and other meetings as assigned.
• Develops and coordinates prevention, health, wellness and recovery initiatives for identified patients, including health and wellness groups as needed.
• Providing nursing assessments to new clients.
• Additional duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: Graduate of a School of Nursing from an Accredited Nursing Program and RN Licensure.

Experience: Experience working with patients with substance use and mental health disorders. Experience working in a managed care environment.

Licensure/Certification/Registration: RN license to practice in State of CT. CPR/First Aid Certification within 6 months of hire.

COMPENSATION*

$40.00/hr

*Our per diem and fee for service positions offer a flat hourly rate.
