Job summary

Trinity Health's St. Mary Medical Center in Langhorne, PA, invites an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join the MG4 unit on a full-time basis. The Day Shift (7am-7:30pm) includes every third weekend coverage, with a 47-bed tele-monitored unit and a nurse-to-patient ratio of 5:1 to 6:1.

BSN is required; PA RN license and AHA BLS are mandatory. The role emphasizes direct patient care, education, and collaboration with the interprofessional team in a supportive, mission-driven environment.

Qualifications

• BSN required from an accredited nursing program.
• PA RN License to practice in the state.
• AHA BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct and/or indirect care of patients using professional nursing skills.
• Assess learning needs and tailor education to age, culture and values.
• Document admissions, reassessments, plans and medications per policy.
• Communicate changes in patient condition to the care team and participate in rounds.
• Incorporate infection control standards and maintain a safe environment.

Position Purpose

The primary objective of this position is to provide quality of care. Responsible for the direct and/or indirect care of patients assigned utilizing professional nursing skills and knowledge.

Unit Overview

Tele monitored patients - medical and observation patients. Nurse to patient ratio of 5:1-6:1. Unit contains 47 beds in double rooms.

As a Registered Nurse, you will

• Assesses learning needs, readiness to learn and identify actual or potential barriers to learning and thereby incorporating the patient's education into daily activities based on age, cultural and spiritual values.
• Documents admission assessment / reassessment, plan, interventions and medication use and monitors its effects and outcomes according to policy.
• Utilizes the information management system to enhance communication and documents change in-patients condition to all appropriate individuals. Prioritizes work assignment based on changing situations.
• Communicates transfer of patient responsibility and pertinent information at the bedside and during Interprofessional Rounds
• Recognizes and integrates patient special needs and individualizes care and knowledgeable in abuse recognition and referral
• Includes pain management and supportive care issues in the plan of care.
• Adheres to infection control standards specific to patient care and by promotes and maintains a safe, clean and orderly environment.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
