Experienced RN - Registered Nurse - Medicine Step Down
Shift Available: Days 7A-7P or Nights 7P-7A (36 hours/week)
$10k Sign On with Competitive compensation package


Cross Country Search has joined forces with an outstanding Medical Center in Oklahoma City, OK, in search of aFull Time, Registered Nurse for the Medicine Step Down Unit. In this Medicine Specialty Unit, you have the opportunity to gain a higher level of nursing in the same unit with the same team and same leadership by working with both Step Down and Medical beds. The Medicine Step Down Unit is a part of the largest service line within the hospital system. This unit is looking for motivated, compassionate, and disciplined nurses who crave a stimulating, learning experience, and work well with a team. The Medicine Specialty unit works with complex and varied patients with multifaceted disease processes.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Documents patient responses to nursing interventions and prescribed medical treatments; notes all changes in physician order on assigned patients.
  • Assists physician in the examination of patients and in performing minor diagnostic procedures and treatment.
  • Obtains and monitors physiological data of patients, observes the physiological manifestations of patients and intervenes when necessary.
  • Administers medication as prescribed. Initiates, regulates and monitors intravenous infusions and blood products.
  • Delivers patient care competently.
  • Interacts with family and patient in sharing care plan while in the hospital and at time of discharge.
  • Informs patient and family of hospital procedures.

REQUIREMENTS:
  • Graduate from an accredited school of nursing required. Bachelor of Science (or higher) in Nursing Board Approved Program preferred.
  • Current Basic Life Support issued by the American Heart Association required upon hire.
  • ACLS (American Heart Association) required within 1 year if working step down.
  • One (1) year of RN experience is preferred for this position. If you have less than one (1) year of RN experience, please search for positions titled “RN Resident” to start the application process.
  • Current RN License issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing, or a current multistate compact RN License.
