Job summary

Indiana University Health is seeking experienced registered nurses to join our Medical Stroke Unit at Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie, IN. The unit emphasizes a multidisciplinary approach and high-quality, compassionate care for acutely ill medical/surgical patients, with a focus on stroke patients.

Ideal candidates hold an ASN (BSN preferred), are licensed in Indiana, and possess BLS certification; ACLS may be required per unit policy.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Mentor and orientation for new graduates; participate in evidence-based practice.

Job description

SHIFTS: FT/PT Days, FT/PT Nights

Location: Ball Memorial Hospital - Muncie, Indiana

This position is referral eligible. Indiana University Health is looking for passionate, experienced nurses to join our team and collaborate with top medical professionals.

This newly remodeled, 25 private bed unit, is committed to delivering the best, high quality, compassionate care. On the Medical Stroke Unit, we use a multidisciplinary team approach consisting of nurses, physicians, patient care assistants, case managers, and secretarial support staff. Our care team specializes in the care of acutely ill medical/surgical patients, with a primary focus on patients effected by strokes. We pride ourselves on our strong partnership and high-quality care we deliver to our patients.

Qualifications
  • Requires an Associates of Nursing (ASN); Bachelor of Nursing (BSN) preferred.
  • Education: The Registered Nurse (RN) must have graduated from a nationally accredited nursing program.
    • Exceptions: Candidates who have not graduated from a nationally accredited program may be considered if they possess more than two years of acute care experience. Such exceptions are subject to review and approval by the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO).
  • Requires current state of Indiana license as Registered Nurse.
  • Requires that the RN has graduated from a nationally accredited nursing program.
  • Requires Basic Life Support certification through the AHA.
  • Other Advanced Life Support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.
