Job Overview

Night Shift. Works under the supervision of the Nurse Manager and the Director. Responsible for assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of total nursing care of assigned patients. The RN may work in various settings within Riverside Health System, utilizing communication, critical thinking, problem solving, and decision-making skills to develop individualized care plans based on physiological, psychosocial, and cultural needs. Responsible for supervising and delegating tasks to non-professional personnel to ensure optimal patient care. Must demonstrate competence in addressing age-specific needs of patient populations. Works collaboratively with leadership and a multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive clinical services aligned with Riverside Health System standards and strategic goals.

Responsibilities
  • Assess patient clinical and psychosocial needs according to standards of practice.
  • Partner with patients and families to develop, implement, and evaluate care plans, treatments, and procedures, ensuring safe patient transitions.
  • Facilitate patient throughput and focus on quality and ethical care outcomes.
  • Educate patients and families, adapting methods to diverse populations, and document comprehensively.
  • Complete all required clinical and quality documentation per standards and regulations.
  • Delegate and prioritize tasks effectively, recognize emergencies, and seek support as needed.
Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (Preferred), or
  • Associate's Degree in Nursing (Preferred), or
  • Nursing Diploma (Required), with higher degrees accepted in lieu of diploma.

Experience: 2 years of RN experience required.

Licenses and Certifications:

  • Virginia RN license or compact state license (Required)
  • CPR/BLS certification (Required)
Additional Requirements
  • Call rotation, weekend, and irregular shifts.
