Responsibilities:

1. Utilize the Nursing Process for patient care from Admission to Discharge, appropriate to the developmental age of the patient population.
2. Perform patient assessment/reassessment according to standard procedures.
3. Develop and coordinate individual care plans including discharge planning.
4. Direct, supervise, coordinate, and evaluate nursing care within the assigned clinical setting.
5. Delegate appropriately according to job description and competency level.
6. Document patient care according to standard procedures.
7. Develop, implement, and document Education Plans for patients and families.
8. Ensure quality and continuity of care through collaboration with healthcare providers.
9. Administer medications, perform treatments, therapies, operate equipment, and assist physicians as required.
10. Participate in and support Nursing Governance activities.
11. Maintain professional growth and assist in staff education and development.
12. Participate in performance improvement initiatives and demonstrate quality improvement in daily operations.

Standard Staffing Responsibilities:

2. Attend meetings, conferences, and seminars as required.
3. Use Quality Improvement in daily operations.

Position Qualifications:

Required:

• Current Massachusetts Nursing licensure and registration.
• BLS certification; ACLS preferred or as required by unit.

Preferred:

• Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing.

Experience/Skills:

• Thorough knowledge of Nursing discipline.
