Job summary

Henry Ford Health in Warren, MI is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Med-Surg Telemetry Unit, a 26-bed unit caring for adults requiring telemetry monitoring for conditions such as heart failure, electrolyte imbalances, and rhythm disturbances.

This full-time days shift (7a–7:30p) includes every other weekend and holidays. BSN preferred with Michigan RN licensure and BCLS; strong assessment, planning and teaching skills are essential, with opportunities for growth in a mission-driven team.

Job Title: Registered Nurse

The Med-Surg Telemetry Unit is a 26-bed unit caring for a diverse adult patient population requiring telemetry monitoring for a variety of conditions, including electrolyte imbalances, substance withdrawal, infectious processes, heart failure, fluid and volume overload, and cardiac rhythm and conduction disorders.

The unit cares for patients with a wide range of needs, including those receiving dialysis, experiencing substance withdrawal, transitioning from extended care or assisted living facilities, managing heart failure, or living with cardiac pacemakers or defibrillators. Additional patient needs may include wound care, tracheostomy and PEG tube care, electrolyte management, and inpatient hospice care.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provides leadership in the coordination and delivery of quality compassionate patient care.
• Utilizes the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation, to provide, delegate, supervise and document care and teaching of patients and family.
• Effectively communicates pertinent patient/family information to health care team.
• Participates in finding solutions for variances from patient goals and ensures implementation of solutions.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

• BSN preferred. Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.

• Ability to effectively communicate with patients, families, and hospital personnel.

CERTIFICATION/LICENSURE REQUIRED:

• Current licensure by the Michigan State Board of Nursing.
• Health care provider certification (BCLS).
