IMMEDIATE OPPORTUNITY. New to Virtua hires are eligible for a sign-on bonus of $10,000*. Minimum of 1 year of Med Surg experience is required. A 2-year commitment is expected.

Job Summary

The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the delivery of nursing care. The professional nurse assumes responsibility and accountability for the appropriate delegation of patient care to other members of the healthcare team.

Position Responsibilities
  • Performs patient assessments leading to the development, implementation, and evaluation of a care plan.
  • Administers, monitors, and documents therapeutic interventions and regimes.
  • Participates in clinical decision-making.
  • Educates patients and families regarding disease processes, care needs, wellness, and safety issues.
  • Delegates and monitors care rendered by other nursing staff and healthcare team members.
  • Participates in orientation, education, and development of healthcare team members.
  • Identifies and engages in performance improvement activities.
  • Maintains professional and departmental competencies.
Qualifications

Experience: 0-1 years required; 2-4 years preferred.

Education: Associate's degree required; Bachelor's degree preferred.

Licensure: NJ RN License; refer to the Educational/Regulatory Policy in the Nursing Administrative Manual.
