Job summary

Intermountain Healthcare in Miles City, MT is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Med Surg Swing Bed unit. You will assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care, coordinating with the health team to deliver evidence-based treatment.

The role requires BSN within four years of hire (or current RN with extensive acute care experience), current BLS, and willingness to work nights/weekends on site. You will document care per policy and participate in ongoing education.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing is required.
• Current Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers.
• BSN within four years from hire unless 15 years RN experience in acute care.
• Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Nursing.
• Certification appropriate for unit/service preferred.

Job Description:Med Surg/Swing bed is a dynamic 18 bed unit that provides care to general Medical and Surgical needs as well as continued rehab in the Swing Bed Unit. Holy Rosary has 24/7 provider coverage on the unit.The Registered Nurse (RN) is a professional caregiver who assumes responsibility and accountability for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating care of patients. The staff RN utilizes the nursing process by use of technology, therapeutic intervention, evidence-based practice and coordination of care with other health team members.ScopeEvaluates health status through the ongoing collection and assessment of health data.Performs health teaching and health counseling.Provides therapy and treatment that is supportive and restorative to life and well-being either directly to the patient or indirectly through consultation with, delegation to, supervision of, or teaching of others.Executes delegated medical functions.Refers to patients as needed for further evaluation or treatment.Reviews and monitors therapy and treatment plans.Documents in accordance with hospital and regulatory guidelines.Uses resources as needed.Required :Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing is required. A Registered Nurse with an AS DN degree must complete a BSN degree within four (4) years from the Registered Nurses date of hire unless the Registered Nurse has a minimum of fifteen (15) years of proven continuous Registered Nurse experience in an acute care setting. Failure to obtain a BSN degree within that time frame may result in suspension or termination of employment. Any Registered Nurse who takes legally protected leave during the Four (4) year completion period may have the period extended by a comparable amount of time. Nurses who possess a minimum of ten (10) years of proven Registered Nurse experience in an acute care or long-term care setting or nurses who are hired before July 1,2020 will be exempt and will not be subject to any requirement to obtain a BSN as a condition of employment at Holy Rosary Healthcare.Current Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers.Preferred :Bachelor's degree of Nursing is preferredCertification as appropriate for the unit or service is preferred.To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily The requirements list must be representative of the knowledge, skills, minimum education, training, licensure, experience, and/or ability required.
