Job summary

Methodist Hospital in Texas seeks an experienced Progressive Care Registered Nurse to coordinate and deliver high-quality, patient-centered care in the intermediate cardiac care unit. You collaborate with providers for pre-operative and post-operative care, advocating for patients to ensure an outstanding experience.

You will assess changes in condition, perform procedures, document care, administer meds, and stay current on cardiac nursing practices.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited RN program (diploma, associate, or BSN).
  • Minimum of six months of clinical RN experience.
  • Current Texas RN license or Multi-State Compact with Texas license within 60 days of hire.
  • Current American Heart Association BLS certification.

Responsibilities

  • Assess patient condition on admission and every shift, noting changes.
  • Perform procedures as ordered by the medical provider.
  • Document care in the patient record in a timely, thorough manner.
  • Administer prescribed medications and monitor response.
  • Maintain knowledge of medications, procedures, and equipment for cardiac/medical-surgical patients.

Job Summary and Qualifications

The Progressive Care Registered Nurse coordinates and delivers high quality, patient-centered care. In collaboration with medical providers, the RN provides pre-operative and post-operative nursing care. The RN serves as an advocate for patients to support an unparalleled patient experience.

What you will do in this role:
  • Assess patient condition during admission and during each shift, identifying and reporting any changes in patient status.
  • Perform procedures or other functions as ordered by the medical provider.
  • Document the administration of care in the patient medical record in a timely and thorough manner.
  • Perform the administration of prescribed medications and monitors response.
  • Maintain a knowledge of medications, procedures, and equipment used in the care of cardiac and medical-surgical patients.
What qualifications you will need:
  • Graduate of an accredited diploma, associates, or baccalaureate degree registered nursing program.
  • Minimum of six (6) months of clinical experience as a licensed Registered Nurse
  • Current Registered Nurse License in the State of Texas or Multi-State Compact License (Employees with RN Compact License are required to obtain Texas RN License within 60 days of hire date)
  • Current American Heart Association BLS Certification
