Job summary

Mercy Hospital Jefferson in Festus, MO is seeking a Surgical RN for 24 hours per week, daytime hours. The role involves post-operative care for adult surgical patients on the surgical floor, including general, bariatric, joint replacement, fractures, and urological procedures.

Requirements include graduation from a nursing program (ADN/ Diploma/ BSN), MO or compact RN licensure, and BLS certification or completion within 30 days of hire.

Qualifications

• Graduated from a school of nursing (ADN, Diploma, or BSN).
• RN license required in Missouri or compact state for nursing duties.
• BLS required or must complete within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Utilizes the nursing process to provide patient care.
• Maintains patient rights and confidentiality of patient information.
• Coordinates patient care with other departments and teams.
• Performs duties consistent with Mercy Service Standards.

Surgical floor at Mercy Jefferson provides comprehensive, interdisciplinary care to adult surgical patients who require post op surgical care.

Our patients include but are not limited to:

• General surgery
• Bariatric surgery
• Total joint replacement
• Fracture repair
• Urological Procedures

Qualifications:

Education: Graduated from a school of nursing (Associate's Degree, Diploma, or BSN).

Licensure: Is personally responsible for obtaining, and maintaining, a current RN license within the hiring state and/or compact licensure in which nursing duties are performed and must meet all state board of nursing requirements.

Certifications:

- Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association or successful completion of course within 30 days of hire.
