Job summary

Mercy Health System in Festus, Missouri, seeks a Registered Nurse for direct patient care on the Medical A floor at Mercy Jefferson. The role covers assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of care across all ages, coordinating with ancillary teams to optimize patient comfort and outcomes.

This unit is fast-paced with 30 beds; opportunities to educate patients about procedures and medications at discharge.

Qualifications

• Graduated from a school of nursing (Associate's Degree, Diploma, or BSN).
• BLS certification through the American Heart Association or course completion within 30 days of hire.
• Licensure: current RN license in hiring state and/or compact licensure as required.

Responsibilities

• Perform direct patient care activities for all ages: assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
• Monitor and coordinate patient care with ancillary departments to optimize outcomes.
• Educate patients on procedures and medications prior to discharge.
• Work on a fast-paced 30-bed unit with a focus on compassionate, team-oriented care.

The Medical A floor at Mercy Jefferson is a fast-paced 30-bed unit that cares for patients of all ages. Many of the patients are chronically ill and require multidiscipline treatment plans and goals. As part of the health care team, you will help educate patients on a wide variety of topics ranging from procedural/surgical expectations to what medications patients will be taking once discharged.

Potential health care workers who are compassionate, team-orientated, hard-working, flexible, enjoy caring for people from all walks of life, will find working on this unit very rewarding while expanding their clinical knowledge base and enhancing their skills.

Qualifications:

• Education: Graduated from a school of nursing (Associate's Degree, Diploma, or BSN).
• Licensure: Is personally responsible for obtaining, and maintaining, a current RN license within the hiring state and/or compact licensure in which nursing duties are performed and must meet all state board of nursing requirements.
• Certifications: Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association or successful completion of course within 30 days of hire.
