$15,000 Sign On Bonus with 2-year commitment
This role is considered the minimum for all nurses with more than 12 months of experience. Provides and coordinates independent care to patients within a clinical specialty as a fully effective and participative member of the multidisciplinary patient care team. Utilizes the institution’s care delivery and professional practice models as the framework for practicing as a professional nurse. Participates in activities to develop personal practice and support group practice goals at the unit level. Is accountable to patients, families, and team members for care provided and to the nurse manager for overall work performance. Adheres to Service Standards and aligns with the Nursing Mission, Vision, and Values.

Clinical Practice:
- Demonstrates competency in caring for the unit-specific patient population; practices independently with solid knowledge and clinical skills; actively advances personal practice.
- Serves as a clinical resource for colleagues.
- Applies and integrates evidence-based practice.
- Functions effectively in roles specific to the unit, such as arrest team for ICU or triage for ED.
- Collaborates with the interdisciplinary team to plan and coordinate care; advocates independently for patient and family needs.
- Models practice consistent with unit operations to ensure safe, timely, effective, efficient, equitable, patient-centered care.
Professional Development:
- Actively works on advancing personal practice.
- Maintains competencies required for the patient care setting; focuses on professional growth.
- Attends unit-based staff development independently.
- Serves as a trained preceptor and coach for new nurses and students.
- Contributes to the development and evaluation of unit-based orientation and educational activities.
- Supports skills and development of nursing support personnel.
- Completes continuing education annually as per facility requirements.
Service/Quality:
- Contributes to unit-based outcomes related to National Hospital Quality Measures (NDNQI), Nursing Sensitive Quality Indicators, and Facility Operational Plans.
- Supports research, evidence-based practice, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Delivers high-quality, safe, patient-centered care, exceeding service expectations.
- Ensures compliance with regulatory standards and participates in tracer activities when requested.
Patient Safety
- Acts to correct observed risks to patient safety.
- Reports adverse events and near misses to management.
- Implements policies, procedures, and guidelines consistently.
- Maintains effective communication and good working relationships with team members.
- Identifies potential risks and communicates them appropriately.
- Participates in patient safety initiatives at various organizational levels.
Operations:
- Demonstrates ability to function as a charge nurse.
- Participates in team-building efforts.
- Contributes to briefings and staff meetings regularly.
- Engages in governance structures at the unit, division, and organizational levels.
- Participates in recruitment and retention activities.
- Provides performance feedback as directed by the nurse manager.
