Schedule: 3-day shifts per week; Hours: 6:45 am - 7:15 pm

Position: Registered Nurse

Job Summary
The Registered Nurse administers patient care in a hospital or inpatient/observation setting, providing active treatment for injuries, illnesses, or post-intervention assessments.

Site: Orlando Health Bayfront Hospital - St. Petersburg, Florida

Essential Functions

1. Assess patient needs and develop/revise care plans based on responses, evaluating progress towards expected outcomes.
2. Respect diversity and build respectful relationships with team members and patients.
3. Act as a patient and family advocate.
4. Provide age-appropriate care, demonstrating necessary knowledge and skills.
5. Serve as preceptor, charge nurse, educator, or clinician as needed.
6. Collaborate with medical staff and interdisciplinary teams for effective patient care planning.
7. Support hospital and nursing department goals and strategies.
8. Assess growth and development needs over the lifespan, interpreting patient data to meet age-specific requirements.
9. Coordinate care, delegate tasks appropriately, and document all patient interactions comprehensively.
10. Demonstrate nursing competency and prioritize patient care according to evidence-based standards.
11. Practice effective problem-solving and communicate unit concerns to the team.
12. Provide compassionate, therapeutic care environments respecting legal and patients’ rights.
13. Support new staff and students through collaboration with education and leadership teams.
14. Maintain punctual attendance and compliance with all policies and standards.
15. Participate in quality improvement, peer review, mentoring, and professional development activities.
16. Ensure efficient supply use, maintain a safe workspace, and attend relevant training and meetings.
17. Identify professional development needs and pursue ongoing education.
18. Perform other duties as assigned.

Education/Training

• Graduate of an approved nursing school.
• Meet all competency requirements for Orlando Health and the specific department.

Licensure/Certification

• Current Florida RN license or valid eNLC multistate license.
• Current BLS/Healthcare Provider certification.
• ACLS, NRP, PALS, TNCC certifications required for specific areas.

Experience

• Minimum 1 year of nursing experience required.
