Job Summary:

The ICU (Critical Care) Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for delivering exceptional nursing care to patients by:

• Assessing patient status using strong organizational and leadership skills
• Prioritizing patient problems and needs
• Implementing clinical interventions for acute, critical patients requiring intensive medical care
• Developing and executing patient care plans to improve outcomes
• Maintaining a safe and therapeutic environment

Essential Functions:

• Collaborating with the interdisciplinary care team
• Conducting initial and ongoing patient assessments, creating care plans, implementing treatments, and evaluating effectiveness
• Prioritizing information to take immediate, evidence-based, patient-focused actions using clinical judgment
• Responding confidently to rapidly changing patient conditions
• Administering medications safely according to policies and procedures
• Performing other duties as assigned

Education:

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (preferred, not required)

Certifications:

• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
• BLS (Basic Life Support) or ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support); ACLS required within 6 months of hire; PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) preferred for pediatric units

Experience:

• Minimum 1 year RN experience required
• 6 months RN experience in Med/Surg, Critical Care, Stepdown, or Emergency Department preferred
