Job summary

CoxHealth South in Springfield, MO is seeking a Float Medical-Surgical Nurse to provide comprehensive care for adult and geriatric patients across medical and surgical units. You will assess conditions, administer meds, change dressings, monitor vitals, document findings and educate patients and families.

The role requires MN nursing licensure in Missouri, BLS/ACLS timing as required, and a willingness to work day shifts in a dynamic hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program or NLN approved program.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferred.

Job Description

The float Medical-Surgical nurse is responsible for managing the care of the adult or geriatric patient experiencing general medical conditions or general surgical procedures. The nurse must be able to assess patient condition, administer medications, change dressings, monitor vital signs, keep records and provide patients and families with support and education. The Medical-Surgical nurse maintains a wide array of medical care knowledge in order to care for a diverse group of patients.

Education

• Required: Graduate of an accredited nursing program or NLN approved program
• Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing

Experience

• Preferred: Previous nursing experience
