The float Medical-Surgical nurse at CoxHealth South in Springfield, MO, provides care for adult and geriatric patients with medical or surgical conditions. You will assess patient needs, administer medications, monitor vitals, and educate patients and families.

Responsibilities include maintaining accurate records, coordinating with the care team, and applying strong critical thinking in a fast-paced environment. This is a day-shift, on-site role with a 36-hour weekly schedule.

Competenze

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program or NLN approved program.
• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred.
• Experience in medical-surgical nursing preferred.
• RN license in Missouri and BLS within 90 days; ACLS within 1 year.

Mansioni

• Assess patient condition and needs.

Job Description

The float Medical-Surgical nurse is responsible for managing the care of the adult or geriatric patient experiencing general medical conditions or general surgical procedures. The nurse must be able to assess patient condition, administer medications, change dressings, monitor vital signs, keep records and provide patients and families with support and education. The Medical-Surgical nurse maintains a wide array of medical care knowledge in order to care for a diverse group of patients.

Education

• Required: Graduate of an accredited nursing program or NLN approved program
• Preferred: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing

Experience

• Preferred: Previous nursing experience
