Boston Medical Center (BMC) is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Med/Surg, Geriatrics & Cardiology units. This 36-hour night schedule includes weekend and holiday rotations. The unit features NICHE geriatric care and specialized medication training. BMC emphasizes professional development and equitable patient care.

Candidates must be MA-licensed RNs, with BLS (ACLS where required) and a nursing degree. Relocation assistance and robust benefits are offered in a supportive environment.

Responsabilidades

• Deliver nursing care in Medical Surgical unit, including assessment, planning, intervention, evaluation, and education of patients.
• Communicate with health care team members, patients and families.
• Coordinate and delegate appropriate patient care activities with inter-professional colleagues.
• Update and manage patient records and interpret computerized data.
• Follow unit guidelines and policies; support quality improvement projects.

ABOUT THE MEDICAL SURGICAL 6 WEST UNIT AT BOSTON MEDICAL CENTER:

6 West is a 36 bed medical unit caring for geriatrics, cardiology, and Med/Surge and CCU team general medical patients. 6 West cares for patients on Flolan & Remodulin. These medications are used in the treatment of pulmonary hypertension and Raynaud’s disease. Patients receiving these medications are cared for on 6West as nurses receive specialized training in these medications and pumps. 6W is a designated unit for the Nurses Improving Care for Health System Elders (NICHE) program. The NICHE model is the premiere national geriatric nursing program that addresses the needs of hospitalized older adults. NICHE works to ensure that adults age 65 and over receive care that promotes function, autonomy, and dignity. They are the leading nurse-driven program designed to address the complex needs of older adults. www.nicheprogram.org

Position Summary

As an RN in the Medical Surgical, you will play an integral role in delivering exceptional care. Using our patient-centered care model you will be uplifted by a supportive nursing organization, and will be able to deliver the excellent care to your patients that they deserve.

Job Responsibilities

• Deliver nursing care in the Medical Surgical, including assessing, diagnosing, planning, intervening, evaluating, and educating patients
• Communicate with various health care team members, patients, and their families
• Coordinate and delegate appropriate patient care activities to inter-professional colleagues
• Update and manage patient records
• Enter and interpret computerized data/information
• Follow guidelines and policies established by BMC’s nursing organization
• Assist the leadership team as needed in quality improvement projects

Job Requirements

• Licensed to practice professional nursing as a registered nurse in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
• 1+ years of RN experience preferred
• Certification in basic life support (BLS)
• Advanced Cardiac Life support (ACLS) certification required in certain units
• Nursing degree: Diploma, ASN or BSN (preferred), Ability to obtain BSN within 4 years
• Relevant clinical experience and/or specialty, certification required for certain practice areas
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Physical ability to meet job responsibilities
• Basic computer proficiency
• Fluency in another language a plus

Compensation Range

$38.05- $75.33

This range offers an estimate based on the minimum job qualifications. However, our approach to determining base pay is comprehensive, and a broad range of factors is considered when making an offer. This includes education, experience, and licensure/certifications directly related to position requirements.
